Terms of Service
Version v1.6Effective
These Terms govern your use of ecareer.ai. They are written to be read: short sections, plain language, and no surprises buried in the middle. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.
1. What the Service is
ecareer.ai (the “Service”) is an AI career platform for STEM professionals. Anyone, of any nationality and in any country, can create an account. The Service collects job postings across six job markets — the United States, Canada, Australia, South Korea, India, and Vietnam — analyzes your profile and documents, computes match scores and gap analyses, and helps you prepare application documents.
The Service is informational. In particular, any visa, immigration, or work-permit information shown in the Service — including sponsorship indicators and visa filters — is general information compiled from public sources. It is not legal advice, it may be incomplete or out of date, and it is no substitute for a licensed immigration attorney or the official guidance of the relevant government. Always verify visa-critical decisions with a qualified professional.
Visa-analysis coverage — ecareer.ai's detailed visa and work-authorization analysis currently covers nationals of six countries (US, Korea, India, Canada, Australia, Vietnam). Your nationality is outside this coverage, so please verify the visa and work-permit requirements of your target job market yourself before applying. Job matching and all other analyses remain fully available.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information at signup, including your actual country of residence.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits is a violation of these Terms and may result in suspension of the accounts involved.
- You must be at least 18 years old — and at least the minimum age of digital consent in your country or region, if that age is higher — to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service, or access it by automated means other than the interfaces we provide.
- Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to access another user's data.
- Reverse engineer the Service or resell access to it without our written agreement.
- Use the Service to generate documents that misrepresent your identity or credentials to employers. The Service is built to translate your real experience, not to fabricate experience you do not have.
- Upload content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to share.
4. AI output — what you can and cannot rely on
We take accuracy seriously: our systems are designed to work from your actual documents and to avoid inventing facts. But AI systems can still make mistakes — a match score can be miscalibrated, an analysis can misread a document, a summary can drop nuance. Therefore:
- Everything the AI produces is a draft for your review, not a finished product. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any document before you send it to an employer.
- Match scores and gap analyses are decision aids, not predictions or guarantees of interviews, offers, or visa outcomes.
- Job posting details (status, salary, deadline) come from external sources and can change or expire without notice. The employer's own posting is authoritative.
- Verify critical facts — dates, titles, numbers, visa terms — before relying on them.
The following notices apply across the Service and also appear in-product where relevant:
Match scores and rankings — Your match score and ranking are a fit estimate computed by ecareer.ai's know-how and optimization algorithm, treating the profile and documents you submitted as accurate. They are not a probability of being hired. The required skills shown for each posting are identified by AI analysis of the job description and may be incomplete or inaccurate, so please verify them against the original posting. Deciding whether to apply based on these scores and rankings, and the outcome (such as screening results), are your responsibility.
CV Builder — The CV produced by the AI CV Builder is a draft that needs some editing before submission — not a finished document — so we recommend raising its quality yourself by editing the details before you submit it. The final review and submission of your CV, including verifying that its content is factually accurate and that any translation is correct, are your responsibility, and ecareer.ai is not liable for incorrectly written content.
5. Your content and intellectual property
- You own the documents you upload (CV, papers, portfolios) and the documents you create with the Service.
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and analyze your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your document content to train AI models, and we do not publish or share it.
- We own the Service itself — the software, design, matching systems, and aggregate data that contains no personal information.
6. Job listings and third parties
Job postings in the Service are collected from public employer sources such as company career pages and applicant-tracking systems. We do not control these sources, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or continued availability of any posting, or the conduct or hiring decisions of any employer. We work to keep listings fresh and to flag inactive postings, but the employer's own posting is authoritative.
Job-posting coverage — ecareer.ai does not collect every job posting. We collect, in near real time, primarily the latest postings from companies selected by our internal criteria as employers hiring outstanding STEM talent, so postings from a company you are looking for may not be available. For a broader search, please also consult other job-listing sites.
The Service is an information and document-preparation tool — we are not an employment agency, staffing service, or recruiter acting on your behalf, and we do not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment. Any application or employment relationship is solely between you and the employer. Applying through an external link takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms.
Use the Service safely — beware of recruitment fraud. Fake recruiters may impersonate employers or job platforms, demand advance payments (for example for visa processing, training, or equipment), or request excessive personal information such as bank credentials or government-ID numbers. Neither ecareer.ai nor any legitimate employer will ask you for money at any point in the application process. If a contact seems suspicious, stop, verify it through the employer's official channels, and let us know at support@ecareer.ai.
If you are an employer or a rights holder and believe a posting should be corrected or removed, contact us at legal@ecareer.ai; we review such requests promptly.
7. Paid plans (forward-looking)
The Service currently offers a free tier only; there is no paid checkout. When paid plans launch, we will publish billing, cancellation, and refund terms before charging anyone, and payment will be processed by a dedicated payment provider. You will never be charged without your explicit action.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will result in interviews, offers, employment, or any visa outcome.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
10. Termination
- You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account yourself from your profile page. Deletion removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms (for example, scraping or multi-account abuse), with notice where practicable.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (your content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive it.
11. Changes to these Terms
When we change these Terms materially, we will update the version and effective date at the top of this page and notify you in the Service (or by email for significant changes) before the new version takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, the new Terms apply; if you do not agree, delete your account before then.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
The Service is operated by ecareer Co., Ltd. ((주)이커리어), a company established in Seoul, Republic of Korea. These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The Seoul Central District Court in Seoul, Republic of Korea, is the court of exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for such disputes. However, if the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer protections — including the right to bring or defend proceedings before your local courts — nothing in this section deprives you of them.
These Terms are published in Korean and in English. If the Korean and English versions of these Terms conflict, the Korean version prevails.
